Matchday 22 of the English Premier League kicked off last night with five of the ten games taking place
As is expected in the Premier League, there was drama throughout all of the games with 16 goals scored across the five matches.
Some of these results included a fantastic 3-2 win for Crystal Palace in a back-and-forth match with Sheffield United, while Luton Town turned on the style as they battered Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0 with two goals coming within the first three minutes.
The drama continues throughout Wednesday and Thursday with another five games to follow.
After being knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend, Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action looking for their first win in the league since New Year’s Eve.
Outside of this loss to Manchester City in the cup Tottenham come into this game in fine form with just three losses in their last 10 games across all competitions, while they have also scored in their last 33 Premier League games – their best and the league’s fourth longest streak in the Premier League era.
Brentford, on the other hand, have had a torrid time of late. The Bees have lost seven of their last 10 games and now find themselves just four points above the relegation zone, although they do have games in hand on those below them. Ivan Toney’s return in their previous game may mark a turning point for Brentford though, as they returned to winning ways over Nottingham Forest with Toney getting on the scoresheet.
While Brentford are sure to make this a tough game against Spurs, who they have lost just once to since returning to the Premier League, we expect that Spurs’ overall quality will carry them to a victory in this one.
Prediction: Tottenham to win, 1.70 Odds.
Erling Haaland has been out of the Manchester City side with injury since their 1-0 loss to Aston Villa at the beginning of December, but the Norwegian striker is confirmed to be back available for selection by boss Pep Guardiola. Despite this lengthy spell on the sidelines Haaland amazingly still remains as the top scorer of the Premier League with 14 goals, joint with Mohamed Salah.
While the striker may not start for Man City, he is likely to get minutes at some point throughout the match. With Man City also likely to dominate the game against a lowly Burnley side, Haaland will get chances no matter when he comes on and we expect that he will convert one of these to grab a goal on his return.
Prediction: Erling Haaland to score anytime, 1.45 Odds.
West Ham United may have faltered in recent weeks with them being winless in their last four games, but their Premier League form has seen them rise up in the table into sixth place coming into this game. The Hammers are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches, picking up impressive wins against Manchester United and Arsenal along the way.
While West Ham will have massive confidence coming into this game after their run of results in the league, Bournemouth will be no easy task. The Cherries have lost just three of their last 10 league games, with these coming against Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool while they beat Newcastle United and Manchester United.
This game is sure to be a tight affair between two teams in great form coming into the game but with West Ham’s impressive home record that has seen them lose just twice at home this season, we believe the Hammers will win this one.
Prediction: West Ham United to win, 2.46 Odds.
